I volunteered to work Christmas day this year and i have been given it,which I happy with. I volunteered so the ones with young children in the shop did not have to work, out of the 10 of us that work there only two of us don't have children, and me and the other person I am working with are happy and don't mind giving up this day for the other's to spend the day with there Children as I feel that Christmas is mainly about the kids. And i will still get sometime with my family on the day so its all good. The shop I work in does not shut we are open all year round. Plus there is always someone that has forgot the batteries for the kiddies toys. :)
